Wesley, Mark and I are participating in the 2024 TD Five Boro Bike Tour on May 5 to raise money for Studio in a School to bring visual arts education programs to New York City public school students. Studio started in 1977 based upon the belief that art is vital, and it should be included in every student’s education. Despite widespread economic changes in the city in the decades since, tens of thousands of public school students, particularly in low-income communities, continue to need consistent, quality arts education. Studio provides visual arts programs taught by professional artists for students from Pre-K to college, allowing children to explore and develop their creative potential. Studio serves 23,000 students annually in all five boroughs, reaching over 1,200,000 students since its founding.
